Open-cell spray foam in North Texas.
Soft, expanding foam that fills gaps and air-seals walls, attics and rooflines — installed by the Quirozave crew across North Texas.
What is open-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is a light, flexible polyurethane foam that is sprayed as a liquid and expands many times its size within seconds. The cells of the foam are left open, which keeps it soft and sponge-like. As it expands it fills cracks, gaps and odd-shaped cavities that are hard to cover with rolls or batts, creating an insulation layer and an air seal in one step.
Where it's used
- Attic rooflines (underside of the roof deck) to bring the attic inside the conditioned space
- Interior and exterior walls in new construction and remodels
- Ceilings and floors between conditioned rooms
- Rim joists and other leaky framing transitions
- Home theaters, offices and bedrooms where sound control matters
Benefits
- Air-seals as it insulates, cutting drafts and air leaks
- Expands to fill irregular cavities and around wiring and pipes
- Helps reduce noise between rooms and from outside
- Can help your HVAC system work less hard in North Texas summers
- Usually a lower cost per inch than closed-cell foam

Open-cell spray foam questions.
Is open-cell spray foam good for North Texas homes?
Yes. Open-cell foam is a common choice for North Texas attics and walls because it air-seals well and handles the long, hot summers. We will confirm whether it fits your home during a free on-site inspection.
Open-cell vs. closed-cell — which do I need?
Open-cell is softer, expands more and is often used in attics and interior walls. Closed-cell is denser, has a higher R-value per inch and acts as a moisture barrier, which makes it a better fit for metal buildings, exterior applications and areas exposed to moisture. We can recommend the right one for each area.
Can you spray foam an existing attic?
Often, yes. If old insulation needs to come out first, we can handle the insulation removal and the new spray foam as one job.
