What is blown-in insulation?
Blown-in (loose-fill) insulation is made of small pieces of fiberglass or cellulose that are blown into place with a machine and a hose. Blown-in insulation questions.
How do I know if my attic needs more insulation?
If you can see the tops of your ceiling joists, or your upstairs rooms are hard to keep cool in summer, your attic may be under-insulated. We can check during a free on-site inspection.
Can you blow new insulation over the old insulation?
Often, yes, as long as the old insulation is dry and in good condition. If it is damaged or contaminated, we can remove it first.
Blown-in or spray foam for my attic?
Blown-in on the attic floor is quick and cost-effective. Spray foam on the roofline air-seals and brings the attic into the conditioned space. We can explain the trade-offs for your home.
